SHOULD COLLEGE ATHLETES GET PAID

This has been a topic I’ve been researching for a while now. The debate on whether college athletes should get paid is extremely controversial and I wanted to share my opinion on this. As a college student most conform into getting a job in order to pay tuition more efficiently. It is hard enough to work and be a college student all at the same time. Now imagine being a student athlete .. Student Athletes have such a tight schedule which can be very stressful depending on how dedicated to the sport an athlete is. However, if we give merit to those who do outstanding work as a athletic and academic person in college then it will give them a higher chance to succeed. Who wouldn’t want that? Letting young athlete students make it easier to obtain their goals of becoming professional while reducing the pressures of making it big - as they say it’s slim to none who make it . Think about it . I’m not saying to give ALL student athletes merits but those who are dedicated to the sport and manage to keep their gpa as well .. Some aren’t lucky enough to get scholarship for sport because most private schools do not give those privileges. However , putting money into the pocket of those who compete actively and are good at what they do shouldn’t hurt.
